Unitarian Universalism is all we teach.

As Unitarian Universalists we should be comfortable with all religious truth. We should also be able to articulate our own faith. We should be able to speak deeply and unafraid about what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist.

Of course, we need to be sure that we are not misappropriating the rituals and traditions of other faith communities. It is important and we are becoming more and more aware of this.

We also need to make sure that we stay open to all religious truth. When we teach the truth that is in other faith traditions, we need to be sure to bring those pieces of truth back into relationship with Unitarian Universalism. Therefore, if we are teaching stories from another faith, we need to be sure to identify what is in that story that relates to Unitarian Universalism. What UU principle does it speak to? Which of our six sources of wisdom does it come from? We are open to all religious thought and truth but no other denomination is going to teach Unitarian Universalism. It is our job.
